On Tuesday, the Carrier Educational Center hosted its annual Family Fun Night! 馃巹馃彨馃対
Families and community members enjoyed board and computer games, arts and crafts, a winter basket raffle, and even got to decorate Christmas-themed sugar cookies.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet instructors and tour a handful of Career & Technical Education classrooms. Carrier staff and student ambassadors helped welcome visitors and keep the evening running smoothly.

Last week students held the first annual Hewes Educational Center Thanksgiving Day parade complete with favorites like Bluey, Spider-Man & Stitch! What a creative way to celebrate the season. Modeled after the famous #macysparade the students has a blast showing off their balloons kicking off the holiday season!

WNY P-TECH in Dunkirk recently celebrated Penny Lane, a 1陆-year-old Mini Goldendoodle鈥揇achshund mix who just earned her certification as a therapy dog! 馃悤鈥嶐煢吼煇锯潳锔
Trained through Shaylah鈥檚 Canine Commands in Forestville, Penny Lane will visit the school as needed to support students and staff.

Seniors in the Culinary Arts program at the Hewes Educational Center recently welcomed New York State Sen. George Borrello for a special visit! 馃鈥嶐煃仇煃斤笍馃懇鈥嶐煃
Sen. Borrello shared how working in restaurants can open doors to a wide range of careers and spoke about his own experience as a restaurant owner and the challenges that come with it.
He then joined the Career & Technical Education students for a delicious meal prepared under the guidance of Culinary Arts instructor Burke Lindquist.

Students in the Criminal Justice and Health Careers programs at the Ormsby Educational Center recently heard from Robert Yeates, a retired officer with the Buffalo Police Department and current investigator with the Erie County District Attorney鈥檚 Office. 馃懏鈥嶁檪锔忦煈┾嶁殨锔忦煆
Yeates shared insights from his nearly 30-year career in law enforcement, including how a critical incident in 2012 shaped his professional path and the message he now brings to police recruits and college audiences. His visit offered Career & Technical Education students a candid look at the realities and responsibilities of the field.
